We fervently believe in 'different strokes' when it comes to wine provision, that's to say that everyone has different tastes and they are all as valid as the next. So, we sell delicate, expressive wines alongside mad, show-stopping blockbusters without any issue. This wine belongs unashamedly in the latter category. So adjust your goggles, tie on your hat and flip the cap of this baby.

It delivers deeply pure black cherry fruit with whisps of herby freshness that were made possible by the single vineyards high altitude location.

Type: Merlot
This Merlot has the distinction of being rated 4 Stars from the day our customers first tasted it - quite an achievement for a wine costing less than £7 a bottle. Fruity, friendly and far too drinkable, it is also full bodied enough to be a serious food wine. For a stunning combination serve our Monos Locos Sauvignon Blanc before the meal and this Merlot when the food gets on the table.

This wine is an all singing, all dancing facsimile of one of the most-loved wine styles to have emerged in the last 20 years - Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. It has the same rush of sensual and lifted aromas and swirl of invigorating, dashing flavours as its counterpart, as well as the same desperately refreshing nature. It is a classic in the making, following hotly in the footsteps of an already classic wine. And it's well pricing into the bargain, as you won't have to pay the Marlborough premium.

Type: Chardonnay
The monkeys have it, and thankfully, so do we. This is an exclusive New World Chardonnay that's as full and fruity as any banana plantation, but without the big hairy spiders that lurk inside. It's also free of the oak that can dominate some Australian Chardonnays, it just has crisp lemony flavours. This wine is as clean, classy and as pure as the Andes snow-melt that waters it. Enjoy with garden salads and grilled chicken.

Type: Grenache blends
For many years now Jurgen has made wine at Capcanes that over-delivers on quality and sometimes delivering a few too many bangs per buck...yes, it is possible. We wanted to capture the wild nature of the area and the wonderful purity of variety and terroir that is Capcanes? hallmark. We think the 2010 has done it. Try cellaring!
Type: Cabernet blends
A great New World take on some Old World classics and at a fraction of the cost you would usually expect to pay. A match made in heaven for beef dishes, or experiment a bit and try it with spicy sausage pizza.
Type: Syrah / Shiraz blends
The Coorong is an area stretching down the coast from Adelaide that is extraordinarily bleak but beautiful. This wine is sourced from around this area, mostly from the Limestone Coast, an area that lends this wine its cool appeal. Yes, it's got bags of ripe fruit. And yes, it's got a good, dense Aussie character. But it also sports some maturity and a little freshness from said cool-climate area.

Winemaker extraordinaire Nico Vermeulen - a keen cook, (especially when it comes to things he's shot himself) is an expert on pepper of all things. As a winemaker, he has long been intrigued by the "white pepper" and "black pepper" characteristics that Shiraz, grown in different parts of the country, can yield. So he sought to bring the two together. This is a wine of two parts: the Malmesbury portion gives the black pepper, the Durbanville portion the white. Ying and Yang, in perfect harmony.

Type: Sauvignon Blanc
A stunning Sauvignon Blanc from the fantastic Adelaide Hills region of South Australia. A region with vineyards at altitude and highly regarded as the only place in Oz for top-quality Sauvignon Blanc. Giving dashing, scintillating fruit and freshness, with loads of verve. It gives the Kiwis something to think about! We're delighted with this wine from Steve Grimley and know that you will be too.
Type: Chardonnay
For too long now we've had our Chardonnay blinkers on, since the grape took the world by storm some fifteen years ago and then suddenly fell from grace. Some of the very best whites in the world, from Corton in Burgundy, to Pierro et al in Oz, this is a grape that, done right, dazzles like none other. So we think it's a little premature to sound the death knell on its reign. And we asked old Adam Hooper in the McLaren Vale to sort us out one supporting that idea. Here's the absolute belter of a result.

This commission is a glorious melange. We asked 11-times SA Champion winemaker, Nico Vermeulen, to come up with a rich, elegant take on the best whites from the Southern Rhōne. Luckily, he knew exactly the right growers from the boutique hot-spots of Elim (cool) and Elgin (warm and sunny). Only this rare combination allowed him to sort out the balance he needed.

Type: Syrah / Shiraz blends
This wine was crafted from dry-grown, old vine stock, vines that have both venerable old age and a spectacular setting in which to perfect their tiny, sweet globes of flavour. There are few vineyards like this left in South Australia, and so releasing wine from these vines is something quite rare. Being so well established, the vines give a very natural balance to the crop, meaning that minimal intervention if possible in the winery, another rare phenomenon in cellars Down Under.
Type: Pinot Noir
Grown in vineyards in much more moderate temperatures than the scorching areas of Cape Town, this Pinot Noir benefits from longer ripening, more flavour, more depth and ultimately more class. Nico's handiwork has resulted in a delicious wine which presents an array of red berry flavours with hints of vanilla. This refined unconventional light red tipple is just perfect now that game is back in season or perhaps with a vegetarian friendly mushroom risotto. Either way it is sure to delight your tastebuds.

Type: Cabernet blends
Featuring a wealth of mature flavours and nuance, this wine derives part of it big, but soft, character from barrel-aging. This particular wine has taken on a delightful mocha note from the wood, and bears this beautifully with the deep, resonant black fruits on show. In a world obsessed with progress and the new, it is surely a lovely thing to do, to draw upon the old standards.

Since we were exposed to the delights of the 2009 Zinio, we begged for a smaller, more succulent part of the El Secreto vineyard to be vinified. We bring you the 'Seleccionada'. A delightful concoction making the very best of the 2010 vintage, itself a lovely occurrence. This wine is 100% Garnacha, which is a great thing as the 2010 vintage eclipsed even the wonderful 2009 for this grape. So you get a pure, unadulterated hit of fleshy, seductive and entirely lovely raspberry fruit. Bravo Marķa!
Type: Garganega blends
This, a special Garganega and Trebbiano di Toscana blend, offers all the verve characteristic of the Vignato family brand. It shows brilliantly vibrant, super-clean, zippy and beautifully delineated fruit, with a zip of herbaceousness to match the citrusy palate and long succulent finish. The hilltop provenance of their vineyard is really the key to producing these top-quality Italian whites...that and the family's love of their vines.
Type: Chardonnay
Chardonnay has been persona non grata for years now but we think it's a little premature to sound the death knell on its reign. It should be remembered that some of the best whites in the world, from Puligny in Burgundy, to Pierro and Leeuwin in Oz, are Chardonnay, and that placed correctly, it dazzles like no other. On the Western Australian state you'll find the finest examples, without a doubt. This rich, rounded cracker comes with an array of scintillating flavours and a fresh acidity.

Winemaker, Luke, is a big Old World fan. And it shows in his steadfast will to reflect the refinement and elegance of the traditional European styles in his wines. He has taken the ne'er-perfected-in-Oz Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon and used the very gentlest of handling to create a wine with a lovely textured feel and all of the exuberance of good, ole Antipodean sunshine. This is a wine of vitality to enjoy on its own, with friends.

There is no stopping the quality from the great vineyards of Marlborough. Made by a master to the highest possible spec from a cracking vineyard, from your favourite white wine growing area on earth. We did a 'Remington' on it and bought the lot, as you might expect, having seen its quality and provenance. Lovely citrus drive and purpose with deft floral touches and hints of minerals.
